We have been providing athletic coverage for local high-schools and locally run athletic events since 1996.

We currently provide coverage at Curtis, Lakes, Clover Park, Life Christian, and Steilacoom High Schools. We also provide coverage for Seattle Sounders U-23, Seattle Sounders Women, and at Pierce Community College.

  • Concussion Management

No two head injuries are alike, but they all require professional care and close monitoring. Our Certified Athletic Trainers are trained to assess acute injuries and evaluate athletes for a safe return to sport. With a research-based series of tests and evaluations, our team of Physical Therapists and Certified Athletic Trainers can safely evaluate an athlete’s recovery from a head injury and determine the most appropriate plan to gradually return to sport.

We take concussions seriously. Our concussion assessment includes:

    – On the field assessment (standard emergency care of airway/breathing/circulation assessment, cervical and neurologic evaluation)

    – Initial sideline assessment (assessment for retrograde and antegrade amnesia, neurologic assessment, balance testing

    – Continuing monitoring and reassessment

    – Use of SCAT2 (Sport Concussion Assessment Tool 2).

One of the most helpful tools in successfully recognizing concussions is baseline testing performed PRIOR to the sporting event. In fact it is mandatory in some local school districts and highly recommended in others.

MVP Physical Therapy provides Baseline Concussion Screening, performed by one of our Athletic Trainers, at all of out locations. Contact one of our clinics to set it up.

  • Sports injuries Screenings

Do you need an X-Ray or will a little ice and rest do the job? Our athletic trainers can assess your injury and recommend the best course of action to get you back in the game.

Head Athletic Trainer at Steilacoom High School, since 2013.

I enjoy being the first point of contact for athletes when they’re injured and being that point of reference they depend on! The profession of Athletic Training has been getting a ton of spotlight as the controversies of concussion treatment and injury prevention have been making their way to the forefront! And I am so very proud to be an Athletic Trainer! I’m always looking for ways to better help my athletes so they can get back and perform at their absolute best! Soccer is my sport of passion though! I love everything about the game and not only did I grow up playing competitively, I still play in adult leagues! Sport is what brought me to this profession. I could not imagine my life without sports.

Prior to working with MVP, I spent a year in Florida at IMG Academy, a private boarding school facility where not only adolescent athletes train and play, but professional athletes make their way to take advantage of the immense and incredible coaching and facilities available. I grew up in Washington and will always be a Curtis Viking at heart!
