Specialized knowledge and advanced clinical skills are required to practice at a high level in today’s challenging health care market.
We have designed a comprehensive continuing education series in the area of Orthopaedic Physical Therapy to enable you to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to expand and enhance your orthopaedic skill set.
This program is comprised of “hands-on” modules of concentrated classroom and lab instruction geared toward 1) newly graduated physical therapists who work in orthopaedic physical therapy clinical practice with access to skilled and experienced clinical mentors and 2) experienced clinicians who would like to hone their skills as clinical supervisors of staff, interns and residents.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:
The full seminar is comprised of both Lower Quarter and Upper Quarter rehabilitation technigues. Participants may register for one or both modules.
LOWER QUARTER MODULE: 64 Hours
Schedule: August 1st-November 23, 2010 with courses held each Tuesday evening from 4:30-8:30pm. (No Class 8/24)

Course Content:
Clinical Reasoning Integration: Examination, Evaluation and Diagnosis
Physical Examination and Treatment Procedures for the;
Lumbar Spine, Pelvic Girdle, Hips, Knee, Ankle and Foot
Rehabilitation of Common Musculosketal Disorders of the Lower Quarter.
Course Instructor: Cuong Pho, DPT, OCS, SCS, CHT, ATC
Dr. Cuong Pho is an Athletic Trainer, Certified and a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in both Orthopaedic Physical Therapy and Sports Physical Therapy. Cuong (pronounced "Koon") received his athletic training certification in 1996 from George Mason University and his DPT in 1999 from the University of Southern California. Cuong completed the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Orthopaedic Residency in 2000, the Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Fellowship in 2002, and Hand Therapy Fellowship in 2004.
He is currently the Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowhsip Coordinator for MVP Physical Therapy, where he is a clinical supervisor of residents in MVP's Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program and of fellows in MVP's Orthopaedic/Sports Rebahilitation Fellowship. Cuong is also currently serving a term as a member of the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education.
